Truck It: A Roundup Of Food Truck Parks in DFW

Sometimes it’s okay if your eyes are bigger than your stomach. At least, that’s what I tell myself when I walk into one of DFW’s many food truck parks!

If you and your crew have trouble agreeing on a place to eat while you’re in town, there’s a simple solution: food trucks. Everyone is sure to find something they’re hungry for among these mouthwatering options.
Note for my fellow pet lovers: Starred parks are pet friendly, so you can bring Fido along for the fun!

1. TRUCK YARD*

Since it opened in 2013, the Truck Yard has been a go-to for food truck lovers in DFW. The relaxed atmosphere makes it feel like you’re in your best friend’s backyard—complete with food trucks and mixed drinks. Grab a spot in the “tree house” overlooking the park and wash down the grub with a glass of their trash can punch.

2. FORT WORTH FOOD PARK*

This park may be a bit hard to find, but it’s totally worth the hunt. Every time I visit, there’s a new food truck to try, and they have tons of picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy your meal. They also recently added a cantina with a full bar, and serve $2 mimosas all Sunday long!

3. AUSTIN ST. TRUCK STOP*

Located down the street from the Courthouse, and right next to Eastside, (one of my favorite Denton bars) this cozy foodie park is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat. Choose to sit on the benches next to the trucks or bring your food back to the Eastside patio and grab a drink from their bar.

4. HUB STREAT*

Hub Streat isn’t your average food truck park. They call themselves a culinary entertainment center, and they’re one of the hottest spots in Plano right now. You’ll find four different restaurants to choose from in addition to various rotating food trucks. Enjoy the pavilion outdoors, play a game in the arcade or admire the downtown skyline from their rooftop bar.

5. FRISCO RAIL YARD

At the Frisco Rail Yard, there’s tons of food trucks to choose from! My personal favorite is their permanent dessert truck, The Dough Box. This park has a full bar, outdoor games and even an outdoor hand washing station to keep you clean after you fill up. Parents, take note: After 9 pm on Friday and Saturday nights, this spot is 18 and up only.

6. RICHARDSON FOOD TRUCK PARK*

Although small, the mighty RFTP is one of my favorites. It’s the perfect spot for quality one-on-one time with friends or your S.O. They also have a full bar and offer a great selection of local craft beer. Local tip: Since the park only has 1-3 trucks at a time, check the calendar before you head out to make sure the trucks of the day fit what you’re craving.
